Alpha-H Liquid Gold Smoothing and Perfecting Mask with Lavender

Product Information

An award winning salon resurfacing mask which acts as a powerful once-a-week, at home, mini-peel. The 15% Glycolic Acid exfoliates dead surface cells whilst Manuka Honey, Lavender and Vitamin E work to hydrate and plump the fresh new cells underneath to leave the complexion visibly more supple, dewy and radiant. Liquid Gold Smoothing and Perfecting Mask - Harper’s Bazaar Beauty Hot 100 Winner 2012!

 - Not suitable for delicate, sensitive skin. A mild tingling sensation may be experienced

*** Information from Alpha- H website and product packaing***

Price:  $63 for 100ml [Reviewed product received from Bellabox Annual Membership Gift]

Ingredients

Verdict

Smooth texture and consistency. Spreads nicely onto my face.
I have quite sensitive skin, so I use this product periodically... probably bi/tri-monthly.
I leave it on for about 10 mins and wash it off in the shower. I did feel a slight tingling sensation but it quickly disappeared and no flares.

My skin would usually become dried up and flaky after cleansers and masks.. surprisingly my face felt supple smooth, and somewhat hydrated. I didn't feel any residue of dead skin on my face (which I usually do with cleansing products). I'm quite amazed with the technology used in Alpha -H 's products, another fantastic Australian brand!

Application

Repurchase?

Yes! It's hard to come across a satisfying mask. I'm currently looking into more products by Alpha-H. I wish that I received the serum in my last bellabox!

The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger TAG

Thank you Jac ;)

Rules:

1. You must copy and paste these 'rules' onto your post when you write it, it doesn't take long!.

2. You must state that this tag was created by 'Matilly Rose' and link http://matillysthisnthat.blogspot.com.au

3. You must thank the person who tagged you at the start of your post (link their blog as well) - follow them if you're feeling nice!, and then at the end of your post state who you tag, and then comment on their blog on their latest post to let them know you tagged them, and link your post so they can see what to do.

4. Title this post 'The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger TAG' so everyone knows what it is about.

5. Have fun! :)

1.  Name a beauty regime you rarely do?
I've never got my nails done, my friend and I got nail art done on 2 nails for kicks.

2.  Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?
I try!

3.  How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
Forever. It doesn't bother me. I can have chipped nail polish on until every single bit of nail polish is chipped off my fingers - but I know it annoys everyone else ;P

4.  How long do you put off buying/replacing a beauty or nail polish product even if you need it?  (ie. purchasing a new topcoat or foundation etc....)
I really only buy/repurchase when I need something. However, having said that, I'm a bit of a hypocrite because I'm subscribed to Bellabox and LHI eco box (and recently LHI monthly)... :\

5.  What is your worst beauty habit?
Not shaving my legs.

6.  Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time?

Fitting my doona in their covers

7.  When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready until the last minute or not?
I'm usually pretty good with planning and organising time, so I don't tend leave it till the last minute

8.  Can you commit to spending bans?

Mmmmm.. depends. If it's on food and eating out... no.

9.  How organised is your makeup and nail polish collection?

Not very organised! All my makeup are in boxes. But I still have a lot lying around (and collecting). My nail polish is pretty organised. I only have about 4-5.

10.  What is the longest amount of time you have gone without writing a blog post?

A year? Two years? I'm not sure.

Now... I know I'm suppose to tag people but I'm super lazy, but I'd like to see everyone's answers... please link me your post if you decide to do this tag :)

Ingredients

Application

Verdict

I did notice some difference in the brush, I'm very messy when it comes to nail polish but this was quite easy to apply and did not clump.

The colour is true to the bottle, neon orange, i love it.

As for fast drying... hmm not quite... it took about half an hour to dry completely.

Repurchase?

Maybe, it takes forever for me to finish nail polish... or any product for that matter. But for less than $3 per bottle. Definitely a great buy!

A Taste of Sydney 2013 - Centennial Park

This was a highly anticipated, newly discovered event. It's like a food festival comprising some of sydney's finest and most popular restaurant as pop-up stores serving sample sized dishes at an affordable price + food demo + snack stores + sampling + wine sampling + every thing food! I got to try out a few restaurants that was on my list.

You can purchase tickets at the door (MASSIVE LINE - AVOID! I recommend ticketek - pick up- I had some major delays when I ordered them to be delivered.)

No cash is accepted at stalls.  "Crowns" is their form of monetary exchange. $1 = 1 crown. You can purchase at the door and in the venue, or pre-buy it at ticketek and go pick it up at the booth on premises.

We got 2 tickets for $40 deal. And purchased $60 worth of crowns in total and used it all up!

@Longrain
Tumeric Chicken with rice noodles, wild ginger and thai basil
8 Crowns ($8)

Not bad, but it wasn't mind blowing. Very tumeric-y haha. Hardly any chicken.

@Longrain
Vanilla and coconut tapioca with seasonal fruit
6 Crowns ($6)

This was AMAZING, the most delicious dessert I've ever had. Very refreshing, we went back for seconds!

@The Cut Bar & Grill
Baked baby beetroot with red radish, heirloom tomato, goats-curd, pine nuts and endive leaf
6 Crowns ($6)

A good dish, very fresh. Nice combo with the goats curd and pine.

@Porteno
BBQ Cheese with honey, lemon and herbs
8 Crowns ($8)

This was really nice, not sure what sort of cheese it was, tasted something like chewy buffalo mozzarella.

@Three Blue Ducks
Chocolate, Yuzu curd, Miso butterscotch + Orange
6 Crowns ($6)

My apologies for my inability to take clear photos :( This is a must have dish.. so unique! You won't taste the miso at all.

@Australian Pears Restaurant By Maggie Beer
Chocolate and fresh pear pudding
6 Crowns ($6)

This would've been a nice dish but the plain yoghurt they splattered on top tasted "off"... it was a really humid day. Otherwise the dark chocolate pudding would've been quite nice. Unfortunate.

We attended one of Bertolli Taste Kitchen session. We saw Shimpei Hatanaka from Sake Restaurant and Bar. He taught us how to fillet a fish and smoke the fish using tea. It was a really informative session, a great end to our night.

This was one of Dilmah's venue.. we were getting endless supply of warm tea as we sat for the 20min session. We discovered rose with vanilla and acai with pomegranate tea!

Really looking forward to next year! Did you go to Taste this year?

Verdict

This product glides on beautifully, doesn't tug on my lids. I love the colour, it's much more natural and subtle than the usual black.

I've been trialing cream, gel, powder, liquid and pencil. So far, every one of them creased or smudged.

This is the first liner I've used that didn't go anywhere!!! It's definitely long lasting.

I have sensitive eyes, experienced no irritations. I think I found my favourite eyeliner!!!!!!!!!!
Another fantastic Australia brand! Great price and value for money!

Re-purchase?

Definitely! I'm keen to try out more products from Eye of Horus, probably the mascara next :D

Verdict

  • The formula is wet, therefore it doesn't clog, but you may still get chunks on your lashes, however you'll be able to spread them out with the brush. Easily build-able.
  • To be honest, I didn't find this brush to be any different. I get all the smaller lashes just the same.
  • Due to the wetness, it takes longer to dry, avoid blinking after application
  •  I hate the fibers. They will fall out throughout the day, I often find random fibers on my face after a few hours. I usually try and avoid brushing it onto my lashes or pick them out before the mascara dries.
  • It's long-wearing to some extent. Bottom lashes are prone to smudging half way through the day  - but it's easy to clean.
  • Product is not waterproof, therefore easy to clean, rinse under lukewarm water.
  • As for lengthening and volumnising... refer to the pictures.
  • In comparison to their original perfect mascara.. I think this mascara lengthens more and doesn't weigh your lashes down as much.

7 Hours later....

 Repurchase?

No, I don't think this is the "perfect" mascara for me. I like that it's easy to wash off but I think Shiseido Perfect Mascara Defining Volume is still my favourite out of all their mascaras.

Anime Fixation

I officially survived my first week back at uni after Three months of "me-time" and 5 weeks of placement. We were bombarded with various individual and paired assignments. My partner and I now have a stroke patient on board that we'll be working with for the next 3 months (which should be interesting!). Two hours into the first day back, my friend and I fell into a depressive spiral and had a mini panic attack. Literally a burnout from work overload.. the thought of it at least. I guess that's what happens when you get thrown back into uni after doing nothing but leisure.

Anywho.. I think I found my dose of relief.

Mm..

She fights evil by moonlight... win love by day light.. she's the one you can depend...

I'm up to episode 81 and it's great. Filled with corny moral speeches stating the obvious, time travel, magical powers energised by different planets, cute cats, cool weapons and some epic parenting moments. Re-living my childhood fixations!
